Michigan State football will be in hostile territory for the second time in three weeks on Friday night on a shortened week as the Spartans will play a top-10 Oregon team at Autzen Stadium.

Not only is this one of the most hostile venues in college football, but it's home to one of the best teams in the nation that has started to figure things out after a slow start to the year. The Ducks are riding a four-game winning streak and will be a tough matchup for the Spartans who are on a two-game losing streak.

As is tradition now here, I've begun to run simulations for each week's Michigan State game on EA Sports College Football 25 and this one was fun.

EA Sports thinks this game will be a lot closer than expected in Eugene.

Simulation results for Michigan State football vs. Oregon

Michigan State held an early 10-0 lead before falling behind 14-10 and then losing in the end, 17-13. It was a close game and I tried to make the conditions of an overcast evening contest similar and here are the key stats in the end, other than a 253-235 advantage for the Ducks in terms of total yards. This was a defensive showdown.

Player

Stats

Aidan Chiles

12-for-20, 164 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs; 15 rushing yards, 1 fumble

Kay'Ron Lynch-Adams

12 carries for 25 yards

Nate Carter

11 carries for 29 yards

Jaron Glover

3 catches, 40 yards

Jack Velling

3 catches, 53 yards

Maverick Hansen

5 tackles, 2 tackles for loss

Ed Woods

1 interception

Jordan Turner

5 tackles

Alex VanSumeren

3 tackles, 1 tackle for loss

Jalen Thompson

2 tackles, 1 tackle for loss

Jonathan Kim

2-for-2, long of 49 yards

Ryan Eckley

5 punts, 49.4 average, 1 inside 20

There wasn't a ton of offense in this one and Aidan Chiles turned the ball over three more times so let's hope that's not coming true. Also, the run game struggled mightily. The leading receiver was Alante Brown (the game hasn't updated him being out) as he caught the lone touchdown pass but Jaron Glover and Jack Velling played well.

Let's hope the Spartans keep it close like this simulation predicts, but more offense is to be had.
