EA Sports CFB 25 game simulation for Michigan State football vs. FAU
Wake up, it's almost game day. Michigan State football plays on Friday and the much-anticipated Jonathan Smith era is getting ready to officially kick off.
And that means we finally have something to talk about other than fall position battles and breakout candidates. We can actually watch these guys prove themselves on the field against different colored jerseys which is what they've been looking forward to for months as well.
The Aidan Chiles era also begins on Friday which is another added level of excitement, especially since he told fans to bet the over for the season win total of 4.5.
I'm not sure what I'm most excited about, Chiles, Nick Marsh, that run game, the offensive line, or the improved defense under Joe Rossi. It feels like there are so many storylines to keep an eye on and it all begins on Friday night under the lights in East Lansing.
But before we get there, I thought it would be fun to do a pre-game simulation on EA SPorts College Football 25 of the Michigan State vs. FAU matchup. Who will win? What will the score be? Who will the top performers be? Well, I ran a simulation on Thursday afternoon and I have you covered.
EA Sports CFB 25 simulation of MSU vs. FAU
The final score of the simulation shows that it was a bit of a snooze-fest as Michigan State beat FAU 20-9. The Spartans held the Owls out of the end zone, but FAU did finish with more yards than the Spartans, 348-318. Obviously not ideal.
Michigan State did win the turnover battle, 2-0.
Aidan Chiles went 14-for-18 through the air with two touchdowns and 180 yards. Efficient but not overpowering. His favorite target was Jack Velling who caught five passes for 52 yards. Alante Brown had four catches for 46 yards, Montorie Foster Jr. had two for 37 yards, and Jaron Glover had two catches for 45 yards and both touchdowns. Shockingly, Nick Marsh didn't have a single catch.
Nate Carter led the run game with 115 yards on 23 carries and Kay'Ron Lynch-Adans had five rushes for 19 yards. Chiles only had four rushing yards on six carries.
As for the defense, Michigan State forced two turnovers with an Ed Woods interception and another from Armorion Smith. Maverick Hansen and Alex VanSumeren each had a half-sack and Khris Bogle and Jordan Turner turned in one each. Malik Spencer led the team with 10 total tackles, Woods had eight, Turner had six, Chance Rucker had five, Dillon Tatum had four, and Wayne Matthews III had five as well.
Not the best game, but a win's a win.
