Don't you just love when current Michigan State players help recruit potential future teammates? Outside of building relationship with the coaching staff I think this is one of the best ways to find success on the recruiting trail.

Michigan State basketball found success in a similar manner with their elite 2023 class when fellow commit Jeremy Fears Jr. helped recruit his three teammates Xavier Booker, Coen Carr, and Gehrig Normand to MSU.

Fast forward to today and Carr is now putting his recruiting hat on as he tries to get five-star forward Jalen Haralson to choose the green and white.

In the above post on Instagram you can see that Carr commented not once, not twice, but three times on an announcement post from Haralson. This post from Haralson on Monday stated that Michigan State, Indiana, and Notre Dame are in his top three and that he will be making his final decision on Wednesday. So now more than ever MSU needs as much help as they can get to help win Haralson's services.

On top of Carr's post, Fears is also doing what he can to help recruit Haralson as well.

At this time it is uncertain who the leader in his recruitment is and it sounds like all three teams still stand a realistic chance to win Haralson's recruitment. So something as simple as these comments from Carr and Fears could help sway Haralson and convince him to come to East Lansing.

While these comments may seem elementary I think they hold more weight than they maybe appear at first glance. Playing for a program that feels like a family is usually on the minds of every recruit, and Carr and Fears are showing that this is the case within the Michigan State basketball program.

Now while these comments probably won't be the difference maker between Haralson committing to Michigan State on Wednesday or not, they definitely don't hurt MSU's chances. So let's hope Carr and Fears gets their wish and Haralson becomes the first member of the Spartans' 2025 class.
