All-time Michigan State football offensive starters from Mark Dantonio era
Running Back: Le'Veon Bell
Similarly to the quarterback position, I see two guys you could select here at running back. Le'Veon Bell or Javon Ringer. While Ringer does have the better overall stats, my selection here is still going to be Bell.
Bell in my opinion is the better overall back. When it comes to short yardage situations I’d much rather have Bell in the backfield than Ringer, so that played a huge role in this decision. And even though Ringer might be better in the open field, Bell is still good enough in my opinion.
Also is the fact that Bell likely would’ve had better career rushing totals had he stayed at Michigan State for four seasons like Ringer. Bell finished his three year career with 3,346 rushing yards compared to Ringer’s four year total of 4,398.
Bell also finished his career sixth all time in rushing touchdowns and seventh all time in rushing yards. Again, just imagine how much better that would be if he stayed for a fourth season.
So while you really couldn’t go wrong with either player here, I’m taking Bell on my team.
