Did you ever think you would see the day that a Michigan State quarterback would host a summer camp with a Michigan Wolverine? I know I never expected to see that in my lifetime, but that is something new Spartan quarterback Aidan Chiles has announced is coming later this summer.

The announcement, which came from Chiles’ mother Nikki Chiles, shows that he will be running this camp with none other than Michigan quarterback Alex Orji.

Chiles and Orji to host youth football camp

The quarterback camp run by Chiles and Orji will take place on June 30 and was confirmed to be in Detroit. Chiles’ mother shared in a separate post that a specific location hasn’t been determined yet, but it will be taking place in the Detroit area.

Now I’ll be the first to admit I was a little hesitant when I saw this announcement. Why would we want Michigan State’s starting quarterback doing anything with Michigan? But then I thought more about it and realized that it’s a really cool thing.

I don’t like Michigan State being involved with Michigan in any way, but when it’s for a good reason like this camp then I’m all for it. This will be a way for Chiles and Orji to get involved in the community and give back, so why would I ever be upset with that?

So even though Chiles and Orji will likely be the starting quarterbacks on their teams this season, I’m happy to see them put that to the side even for one day so they can do something great for their community. Especially in a day and age where everything on social media is always so negative, this is a good reminder that we don’t have to hate that team down the road all the time.
