3. Gregory Patrick, OL

Let’s jump to the class of 2026 and begin with one of the top recruits in the country.

Gregory Patrick is a four-star offensive lineman who is the No. 2 player from the state of Michigan. He also is the No. 118 overall player and No. 7 offensive lineman.

As you would imagine, many high profile programs are already involved in Patrick’s recruitment. Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Wisconsin are just a few of the other programs who have offered Patrick already. But it’s Michigan State who sits on top as of now with a 35.9% chance at winning this recruitment. Not far behind is Notre Dame at 19.8% and Michigan at 16.9%.

This is a very important recruitment for Smith to win. Winning a recruitment like this for as talented of a player as Patrick is will do wonders for the future of the program. This will show the rest of the country and other recruits that Smith means business and can recruit against the best of them.

So if Michigan State is going to prioritize anyone in the 2026 class, Patrick would be a prime candidate.
