4. Wayne Matthews III, LB (Old Dominion transfer)

Honestly, I may be more excited about Wayne Matthews III than most Michigan State fans and that's because he still has two years of eligibility remaining and he's fresh off a monster season in 2023.

In fact, Matthews broke out as a sophomore for Old Dominion, racking up 135 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 tackles, three pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 13 games. Yes, he averaged over 10 tackles per game in his second season of action and that intrigues me. His potential is through the roof moving forward and he legitimately may be the most underrated transfer addition of the offseason.

While they aren't exactly the same player, Matthews reminds me a little of Jacoby Windmon in the way that he was also a super productive linebacker in the Group of Five before coming to Michigan State and he lived up to the hype right away.

I think Matthews is going to be a household name by the end of September and No. 4 on this list actually may be too low for him.
