With spring ball well in the rearview mirror, Michigan State football fans are gearing up for an important summer leading into the Jonathan Smith era.

It's hard to believe that the Spartans are already on their second head coach since Mark Dantonio retired, but Smith actually gives off similar vibes to the Michigan State legend. He recruits guys who fit his system and doesn't star chase and he's honest and straightfoward about everything. He's also known for turning programs around.

I think we'll see that early on, especially if these guys break out on offense.

3. Brennan Parachek, TE

This might seem like a rather interesting pick because Michigan State is bringing in one of the best tight end transfers in the country in Jack Velling, but Brennan Parachek is going to benefit from learning under Brian Wozniak and his new teammate from Oregon State.

No, I'm not saying he's going to take over Velling's spot because I think the Oregon State transfer has legit first-team All-Big Ten potential, but I think he's going to benefit from the new situation.

Before Velling and Wozniak, it felt like Parachek was getting let down by the coaching staff but now that he's stuck it out, he's going to be rewarded. Plus, there's a reason he was so highly-touted in the 2023 recruiting class. He's going to step up and have a really solid role and put up some serious numbers as the No. 2 tight end this season.

What would I consider a "breakout" for Parachek? Maybe something like 300 yards and three touchdowns.
