2. Leo Hannan, 3-star QB -- Anaheim, Calif. (MSU commit)

Leo Hannan was MSU’s first verbal commit of the 2025 recruiting cycle and man do I like his game. He reminds me a decent amount of how recent recruits Sam Leavitt and Katin Houser are progressing. Leo has been under-recruited so far and it was big to get him committed before other schools fully caught on. I think Jonathan Smith recognized that and prioritized him early on to get him on board.

Hannan is currently a three-star commit but it would not surprise me if he earned a fourth star before the cycle closes. He is 6-foot-4, 210 pounds with a strong frame. He was not named the starter in high school until this past season and his game really took off since then.

The three-star quarterback has a big arm and lots of potential. Is also very athletic for a quarterback his size and he's a dual-sport athlete in high school, also playing basketball.

In 2023 as the full time starter, he completed almost 64 percent of his passes and threw for 14 touchdowns. He also added six more touchdowns on the ground.

Having the offensive minds in place that Michigan State has, I could really see Leo flourishing under offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren and Smith. He will be on campus June 7-9 to continue getting to know the staff, campus, and team. Also to help potentially recruit other commits to lock in. As far as I can tell, Hannan will end up in East Lansing when all is said and done.
