3. Tight end

The addition of Jack Velling to the tight end room is going to work wonders for this offense in 2024 as he's likely going to be Michigan State's most productive player at the position since Josiah Price.

Velling had a heck of a two-year run at Oregon State before transferring to Michigan State with Jonathan Smith, catching 45 passes for 719 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was one of the most productive tight ends in the country last season and he already has a solid rapport with Aidan Chiles. I'm expecting these two to develop a heck of a connection this season.

But Velling isn't the only solid tight end on the roster. In fact, Brennan Parachek is entering his second year with the program and while his freshman campaign was quiet, the former four-star has all the tools to be an elite tight end in the Big Ten. I think we're going to see a big jump in production from him in 2024.

Tyneil Hopped and Michael Masunas are quality third and fourth options at the position and even though Jack Nickel transferred out, I feel really good about this position group.

Wide receiver is about 1-2 additions from the transfer portal away from taking the No. 3 spot -- although running back is right there.
