3. Montorie Foster Jr.

Thirty-five wide receivers were drafted over the weekend, showcasing the need for talent in a pass-dominant league.

Also, for the second straight year, a wide receiver coached by Courtney Hawkins at one point was drafted in the second round. We all had a feeling that Hawkins would be the one coach retained on Jonathan Smith's staff, and there's no denying that he can identify and develop talent.

While Montorie Foster Jr. is a little undersized at 6-foot-0, he's incredibly athletic and sure-handed. He also contributed in the run game with well-timed sweeps and reverses which really accented his speed and ability to find open space. He led the Spartans in catches and yards, but that's not saying much as both ranked outside the top 15 for wide receivers in the conference but again, cannot stress enough just how bad this offense was for three of the four years Jay Johnson was offensive coordinator.

Although Foster Jr.'s numbers were first on the Spartans, he would have been third on last year's Oregon State team. With competent coaching and a new offense, Foster Jr.'s senior season can boost him into the NFL-ready conversation.
