Moneyball 2024 is getting close to coming to an end as Michigan State basketball players have two more weeks and four more games left. That means we need to soak as much of this time in as possible because once Moneyball ends next week we won’t see the team until their summer excursion to Spain.

MSU’s players have done extremely well so far this summer with many of them showcasing the vast improvement they’ve made already this offseason. And that held true again on Tuesday as a few Michigan State players stood out from the pack.

Here are my three takeaways from the seventh night of Moneyball.

1. Xavier Booker gets off the "struggle bus"

It’s been a couple weeks since Xavier Booker has truly shined at Moneyball. Booker took about a week off from playing at Moneyball then didn’t have the most impressive performance last Thursday. It doesn’t bother me that he skipped a few games, but this stretch still concerned me because he didn’t have a quality showing since the beginning of July.

But that changed on Tuesday night.

Booker showed up and showed out by scoring 29 points including hitting four 3-pointers.

Some people have questioned Booker’s work ethic throughout the beginning of Moneyball, and I totally get how being excited for these games can be tricky. However, you still want to see your stars perform well in this setting (he's also trying to not get hurt). Thankfully Booker was able to do that on Tuesday. Now let’s hope he can string some quality performances together with another solid outing on Thursday.
