3. Hello, Jase Richardson

Welcome to the party, Jase Richardson.

Richardson is an incoming freshman who has the potential to be another great point guard under Tom Izzo. However, with all the talent in front of him I wasn’t too sure if he’d get much playing time this season.

That, however, might have to change after Thursday night.

Richardson scored 19 points Tuesday night during the first night of Moneyball. A solid showing but nothing too noteworthy if we’re being honest. However, Thursday night Richardson topped Fidler’s 40 point showing by scoring an insane 42 points.

Most of his work came inside the arc as he only made two 3-pointers, but that only adds to the impressiveness of his performance in my eyes. Richardson is proving to be a bucket getter, and you can never have too many guys like that on your team.

Like I mentioned, I’m not sure how much playing time he’s going to get this season, but it’s becoming more and more clear that Izzo needs to give him a fair amount if he keeps scoring like this.
