Day two of Moneyball is already here and 12 Michigan State basketball players once again laced it up against some of the best players from the Lansing area. Day one was Tuesday night and saw many Spartans stand out, especially some of the new faces to the team.

Fast forward to day two we once again saw a lot of great performances from the Spartans. So let's jump right in with the three things (plus one bonus take) that stood out to me the most.

1. Does Carson Cooper have a jump shot?

Carson Cooper is known for a couple things since he’s been at Michigan State. Solid defense and decent scoring with his back to the basket from time to time. That’s it.

However, he may be showing a new part to his game on Thursday, one that I don’t think anyone saw coming.

A 3-point jump shot.

Cooper finished his game with 26 points including two made three pointers. The fact that he even took a few shots from behind the 3-point line is wild, but to make two of them is even crazier.

I still don’t think this is anything to expect heading into the regular season because Cooper didn’t make any 3-pointers in his first game. These couple makes on Thursday also could’ve been him just having fun in front of the crowd, but this is definitely something to keep an eye on the rest of the summer and something I definitely hope becomes more regular.

Cooper immediately becomes a more reliable player if he has a jump shot, and that development would take Michigan State to the next level.
