2. Consistency from Aidan Chiles

Aidan Chiles was much better against Maryland last week compared to their Week 1 win against FAU, but his consistency still wasn’t there. For all the good things that Chiles did against Maryland, he had a lot of issues that need to be sorted out. And almost everything comes back to consistency.

Chiles showed off his arm at times last week especially when he was connecting on a few deep balls to Nick Marsh, but his few bad passes were very bad. I don’t expect perfection from Chiles, but some of his misses weren’t even close. Both of his interceptions last week were caused by extreme overthrows or missed reads, two things he just can’t do against better competition. So Chiles needs to limit those plays and avoid disaster as best he can.

I also think Chiles needs to make the easy play more often. I think he’s too quick to throw the deep ball instead of taking the easy check down pass for a few yards.

Like I said, I don’t expect Chiles to be perfect, but he needs to be more consistent and this is the perfect game to move in that direction.
