3. The Spartan defense has four sacks

Michigan State’s defense so far this year has surprisingly been lights out at sacking the quarterback. So much so that they are the No. 1 team in the Big Ten and No. 2 in the country with 15 sacks through four games.

But it goes without saying that these sacks came against weaker competition compared to what MSU will face this weekend. Sure a lot of sacks look good against Boston College and Maryland, but those two teams clearly don’t compare to the level that Ohio State is at.

I do however think it’s not going to matter on Saturday. In fact I think the Spartans will do better than their season average.

Michigan State is averaging 3.75 sacks this year, and while four sacks isn’t that much more than this average it is in my eyes when you consider the increase in competition. So that’s what I am predicting, a four-sack game against the Buckeyes with one of the sacks being a strip sack that will set the Spartan’s up with good field position.
