2. Michigan State has four penalties or less

Another negative thing from Michigan State's win over FAU was the amount of penalties the Spartans had, specifically on defense. Michigan State had 12 penalties for 140 yards which was third-most in the country last week. That needs to change if Michigan State wants to beat Maryland.

With such a horrific amount of penalties last week, Jonathan Smith and his staff will surely harp on their team all week long to correct that. Thankfully for Michigan State I think a lot of their penalties can be easily corrected.

Now I'm not going to make an outlandish prediction and predict MSU to only have one or two penalties, but they are going to do much better than they did last week.

So in Michigan State's game against Maryland, I predict the Spartans to have four penalties for 50 yards. These will come from a pass interference, two false starts and a holding penalty on Saturday. I think the staff will be very pleased if these are the only penalties the team has all game.
