Michigan State football has a history of brothers playing on the same teams. Not many programs have been able to have the same familial success that Michigan State has had in the recruiting landscape, but Mark Dantonio had several pairs of siblings playing together while he was there.
The first were the Bulloughs. Max, Riley, and Byron Bullough all played for Dantonio during the 2010s and two of them had a ton of success. Then there were the Allens and Dowells. Jack, Brian, and new assistant coach Matt Allen all played for Dantonio and the latter played for Mel Tucker, and the same could be said for David, Andrew, and Michael Dowell, respectively.
Dantonio also landed the Panasiuks -- Mike and Jacub -- who had decent careers in East Lansing, albeit during a rather forgettable era at the end of his tenure.
Now Pat Fitzgerald has a chance to do something similar with Caleb, Samson, and Gideon Gash. Caleb is a current defensive back on the roster, Samson is a freshly-signed four-star receiver, and Gideon is one of the best recruits in the 2027 class.
On Monday, he was vaulted to the No. 64 recruit in the country by Rivals, making him one of the biggest risers in the entire 2027 class.
Blessed to be ranked as the 64th player in the country! @Rivals pic.twitter.com/SM0JA4tMk8

This is huge considering many believe that he's a Michigan State lean with his brothers already on the roster. When Samson signed, Gideon's chances of becoming a Spartan rose exponentially.
Samson and Gideon Gash could be the future of Michigan State
Samson Gash signed with Michigan State a few weeks ago after flirting with Penn State and Alabama and experts immediately pegged Gideon Gash as a future Spartan.
While I don't think he's quite a lock yet, it does look good for Fitzgerald as long as he's able to keep Caleb and Samson on the roster after the 2026 season.
Samson is talented enough to be the future No. 1 receiver for the Spartans' offense, and Gideon is truly talented enough to be Michigan State's top defensive back somewhere down the line. They could come together to become the future of the program and lead it out of the dark ages.
