Two weeks ago, Michigan State had two representatives on the Biletnikoff Award watch list, but neither of them was named Nick Marsh.
It was shocking to see the Spartans so well-represented on the Biletnikoff Award watch list without arguably the best receiver on the team listed. Marsh was coming off a record-breaking freshman season with the Spartans and is expected to be the team's WR1 in 2025.
Despite this, he was the odd man out of a two-man representation on the watch list.
Marsh was asked about not being on the Biletnikoff Award watch list on Monday by the local media, and his response shows that he's the definition of a Spartan.
Marsh on not being on the Biletnikoff Award watchlist: “Hey man, if it takes some pressure off of me then that’s good for me. I don’t really think about it.”

Says he’s happy for teammates Omari Kelly and Chrishon McCray who were on the watchlist.
A lot of elite receivers would be ticked that they didn't get the national recognition that they deserved, but not Marsh. He welcomes the idea of being an overlooked underdog, and he even said that it's going to take some pressure off of him -- which he said is "good" for him.
The sophomore wideout also said that he's happy for Omari Kelly and Chrishon McCray who made the watch list. However, Marsh is one of two locked-in starters at wideout for the upcoming season, as teased by Jonathan Smith last week. The second-year head coach said that Kelly and Marsh are the two starting receivers while there's a legit battle for WR3.
Marsh isn't worried about the preseason recognition, he's going to let his play speak for itself as he attempts to become the latest Spartan wideout to reach 1,000 receiving yards.
This unselfish mindset is exactly why I believe that this team is going to surprise some people. Whether it's the WR1 or the QB3, no one on this team believes they're bigger than the program.
