Michigan State football fans had to wait until day three of Big Ten Media Days to hear from guys like Jordan Hall, Nick Marsh, Stanton Ramil, and Jonathan Smith, but the quotes that they provided were well worth the wait.
We heard some interesting things from Ramil about how he wants to see more burning couches (alluding to the fact that big wins lead to this) and also Marsh spoke about how he's had to make some tough decisions about his future, but what he's built so far in East Lansing is worth staying for.
Spartans Illustrated actually captured arguably the quote of the year from Marsh during media day on Thursday as he talked about receiving more lucrative offers but staying at MSU.
Nick Marsh: "All money is not good money. I'm building something at Michigan State - a foundation, a brotherhood, a family. I think that's more important than money. I think family and God is more important than materialistic things." pic.twitter.com/koyzHC3dsw

Talk about mature beyond his years, Marsh opened with "not all money is good money" which is a heck of a quote and it has never rung truer. College football nowadays is the wild, wild west and coaches are now forced to recruit their own players every offseason because of tampering and NIL deals from other programs flooding in to muddy the waters.
Smith hasn't had to worry too much about Marsh, though.
Obviously he's going to receive his fair share of offers each offseason (like Keon Coleman did) but he made the conscious decision to remain with Michigan State despite the money being enticing elsewhere. He admitted that there has been more money on the table at other schools, but the foundation he's built at Michigan State isn't worth giving up.
We're going to look back at this quote one day and realize that he was one of the rare superstars in the sport. He cares more about his teammates and his coaches than he does about making a quick buck for himself before he goes on to make millions in the NFL.
Marsh is a rare talent. Enjoy him while you can.
