It's not often you hear Nick Marsh curse, but when he explained his halftime interaction with the coaching staff (presumably Jonathan Smith and Brian Lindgren), it probably made you like him even more.
Marsh is a humble kid. You would never suspect that he's one of the best receivers in college football and a likely future All-American just by listening to him talk. He's quiet, unassuming, and just even-keeled. When he speaks, he's usually praising teammates rather than talking about himself.
But on Saturday, after an emotional win over Boston College, Marsh spoke to the media and explained one of the best interactions he's probably had at Michigan State.
Noticing a lot of one-on-one coverage, Marsh went to Smith and Lindgren at halftime and told them, "Coach, I got one-on-one coverage. Give me the (expletive) ball."
"I told him, 'Coach, I got one-on-one coverage. Give me the damn ball.'"

This interaction seemed to have paid off as the ball went Marsh's way more in the second half, and he finished with five catches for 68 yards and two touchdowns. He scored Michigan State's first touchdown of the game in dramatic fashion, carrying a defender seven yards to the end zone.
Marsh's next touchdown was also a big one as Aidan Chiles hit him in stride in the end zone for a game-tying 41-yard score in the opening minutes of the second half.
While he still deserves more targets, he's off to a solid start to his sophomore season with 10 catches for 100 yards and three scores. He is scoring a touchdown on 30 percent of his receptions thus far. That needs to continue. A year ago, he had three touchdowns on 41 receptions.
You want the key to a successful offense? Get Marsh the (expletive) ball.
