The first year as a starting quarterback is usually a learning experience for younger guys, and that includes Michigan State's Aidan Chiles who spent the 2024 season going through some growing pains.

The uber-talented dual-threat became known for making plays with his legs, but also making mistakes with his arm, throwing into coverage and turning the ball over more than he -- or anyone -- would've liked. He took all of these bumps and bruises that he accrued during his first season at Michigan State into the offseason, and worked on each of them.

So far during fall camp, he has looked like a much more motivated quarterback, according to coaches, teammates, and the media who have gotten some glimpses.

On Monday, his favorite target, Nick Marsh, spoke to the media about how he's looked during fall camp so far, and the sophomore sensation raved about his QB1.

"Aidan's stepped up, he means business."

If that doesn't tell you what to expect from the second-year starting quarterback, how about some encouraging words from Jonathan Smith about his attention to detail this fall:

Still not enough proof? What about even more praise from wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins who also spoke to the media on Monday? This should do it:

Marsh, Smith, and Hawkins all had good things to say about the starting quarterback, and Chiles seems more confident himself, judging by his previous media sessions.

The excitement is building for the 2025 season and if Chiles really has improved like everyone is saying, the Spartans are going to surprise a lot of people.

I'm starting to buy all the Chiles hype.
