Watching Kenneth Walker III play football every Sunday feels like something that should be on pay per view. The former Michigan State running back has been torching NFL defenses every week and he had yet another 100-yard game on Sunday — this time against old foe Jim Harbaugh.
For the second time in his football career, Walker dominated a Harbaugh-coached football team. The first happened in 2021 when he scored five touchdowns against Harbaugh’s Wolverines and he added two more on Sunday.
I don’t know what it is, but Harbaugh can’t figure out how to stop K9. Wait I actually do know what Harbaugh’s issue is: Walker is the best running back in the world right now.

In two career games against Harbaugh, Walker has 325 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Talk about having someone’s number.
Harbaugh may have to send Walker a Father’s Day card next June.
Jaden Akins is making a name for himself in New York
From Grand Rapids to the Big Apple, Jaden Akins has undergone one of the biggest career moves that any young athlete could possibly make. He was a G-League All-Star with the Motor City Cruise a year ago and now he’s coming a legitimate fan favorite in New York as Knicks fans are becoming more privy to the NBA Spartan’s game.
A really impressive preseason has Knicks fans thinking about a future with Akins in the regular rotation. The consensus from New York fans? Akins is a walking bucket.

It’s cool to see another fanbase enjoy Akins the way Michigan State fans did over the years and his ascent to the NBA has been a fun watch, too. He’s quietly earning himself a role for the defending world champs this year even though he is on a two-way deal.
Football recruiting heats up despite losing streak
Pat Fitzgerald and the football program are searching for answers after a fifth straight loss and it’s really starting to feel like a bowl game just wasn’t in the cards for the Spartans.
That didn’t stop recruiting from having a nice weekend, however.
Fitzgerald welcomed several top 2028 and 2029 recruits to East Lansing and gave them a show for 59 minutes until the Spartans found a creative new way to lose. Several recruits loved their time and had nothing but good things to say about Fitzgerald and the program as the loss didn’t seem to deter anyone.

These are just two examples from a batch of prospects who came to East Lansing, got to meet and interact with Fitzgerald, and came away impressed with what they saw.
The future is bright.
