Michigan vs. Michigan State football kickoff time announced and it's bad news

Optimal kickoff time, in my opinion, is 3:30 p.m.

Avert your eyes, traditional Michigan State football fans, the latest kickoff time for the Michigan game has officially been announced -- and it's not great news.

After playing in three straight night games and a fourth on the way in the form of Iowa, Michigan State will officially play its fifth straight night game on Oct. 26 in Ann Arbor against the rival Wolverines.

This, well, might be bad news for those who hate staying up for Michigan State games (I'm not in that group thankfully). Michigan State announced the kickoff time for Week 9 on Monday afternoon.

This doesn't bother me because I'm always awake throughout Saturday so I can watch all the late games, but the only thing I don't like about Michigan State at night is waiting all day to watch the Spartans take the field. Sometimes it's nice for that to happen early on and enjoy the rest of the day.

Iowa will come to town this weekend for a big game for Jonathan Smith and Co. as the crowd will be electric. The Hawkeyes are coming off a huge win over Washington and it'll be a chance for Smith to record a signature win in East Lansing and head into Hate Week with a 4-3 record and on the right side of the bowl chase.

That Michigan game under the lights in Ann Arbor will be electric. It'll be an opportunity for Smith to take in just how much hate there is in this rivalry with a hyped up crowd and a fairly even-ish matchup.

The Michigan night game will mark the Spartans' sixth of the season in the first eight games and the fifth in a row -- just wild.
