Michigan transfer reportedly shined for Michigan State football during fall camp

It's been a busy offseason for Michigan State football coach Jonathan Smith between recruiting the 2026 class (which he did well this summer) as well as figuring out how his depth chart will shake out.

The Spartans are expected to have plenty of depth compared to what they had in previous seasons, but will that translate to wins? That remains to be seen, but Smith is confident in his guys.

Earlier this week, Smith spoke to the media about the team so far during fall camp and with the final scrimmage before game week taking place last Saturday, he had plenty to report.

One of the tidbits he provided to the media was about a certain linebacker who has been standing out so far in pass coverage. He did speak highly of Sam Edwards and Brady Pretzlaff on Monday, but he mentioned that a certain Michigan transfer was leading the team in interceptions during camp.

That's right, Semaj Bridgeman has been a bright spot for the Spartans, leading the team in interceptions (Smith thinks) this fall, and that's a good sign considering he was just a special teams performer a year ago. He redshirted in 2023 when Michigan won the national title, hit the transfer portal, and then decided to call East Lansing home, much to the dismay of Wolverine fans.

Bridgeman completed the Jaden Mangham trade.

And now, it looks like he may have more success against the pass than the former Spartan safety who transferred to Michigan last offseason and has yet to really leave a mark on the Wolverines.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm drinking all the Kool-Aid.
