The offseason for Michigan State women's basketball has seen its fair share of departures. Whether that be players graduating or others leaving the program for other schools.

One position that Robyn Fralick needed to address in the offseason was guard.

Jalyn Brown went pro, and Rashunda Jones (Arizona State) and Juliann Woodard (High Point) have both found new homes, making this task even more important. Fralick has proven to have an eye for good fits in the portal in the past -- just look at Grace VanSlooten.

The Spartans didn't have to look far for a good fit. Anna Wypych was a local talent and the 2025 Miss Basketball of Michigan, choosing Butler coming out of high school. After playing in 29 games as a true freshman making three starts this past season, Wypych was looking for a new home in the portal.

The Rockford native, didn't have to look far as she chose to come back to the state of Michigan to play for Fralick and Michigan State.

That's one piece of the puzzle for the Spartans, as it's clear the team will have to find some other players in the portal. With other key players in the portal like Ines Sotelo, there's a deficiency in experience in the post.

Pairing two Miss Basketball winners in Wypych and incoming freshman Lilly Williams should make for an impressive influx of talent after what ended up being a disappointing end to a once-promising season.

It's good to see that she will come in with good game experience as she averaged 6.5 points and 1.2 assists per game. She certainly should take some pressure off of Kennedy Blair as well.

Anna played very well in her final five games in a Bulldogs uniform, scoring eight or more points in each game including a career-high 21 points against DePaul.

This was a major add of need for Fralick and the Spartan women's program.
