Some Michigan State basketball scholarships may be offered in the near future as Tom Izzo continues to identify his top targets in the 2027 class.
Over the past month, or so, Izzo has offered four-stars Jadyn Jenkins, Jaxson Davis, Antonio Pemberton, and Joshua Tyson. He’s also showing interest in several other targets in the 2027 class like Kamsi Awaka, Asa Montgomery, and now another elite small forward who happens to be the top-ranked player now on Izzo’s big board, for now.
According to Corey Robinson of 247Sports, Izzo has “firmly” added Awaka and five-star small forward Jordan Page to his board and an offer is likely to come for both soon.
Robinson reported that Izzo has been to several Awaka and Page games this week, meaning that both are firmly on the Spartans’ radar. Izzo doesn’t usually put in this much of an effort with a recruit unless he plans on offering or, at the very least, building a relationship with the talented prospect.
Page is the No. 10 recruit in the 2027 class as well as the second-best small forward out of Raleigh, N.C. Since he’s from North Carolina, you can just bet that Duke, North Carolina, and NC State will all be involved. Surprisingly, however, Duke has yet to extend an offer, but North Carolina and hometown NC State are both grinding this recruitment out.
Other big-time programs like Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, and UCLA have all offered the five-star, but this interest being shown by Izzo could go a long way.
Page hasn’t spoken much about Michigan State recently, but Robinson seems to believe that the Spartans are involved and an offer could be coming soon. Izzo likes to fly under the radar and do his work behind the scenes so maybe that’s what’s happening here.
Michigan State’s perfect 2027 class would include Jordan Page
If we were to put together the perfect Michigan State recruiting class for 2027, I think it would be three deep and Page would be the wing addition to go along with Davis at point guard and Jenkins at the center position. That three-man class would turn some heads.
Right now, Michigan State has a lot of ground to make up judging by his recent interviews regarding his recruitment. It’s still early, but if Izzo is putting in the effort, there has to be mutual interest.
Let’s say Fears, Carr, and one other Spartan leaves next offseason, replacing them with Page, Davis, and Jenkins would be almost perfect.
