What a hot stretch Jonathan Smith and Michigan State football have had on the recruiting trail since the first official visit weekend kicked off.
The Spartans went from four total commits and sitting somewhere in the 70-range national in team recruiting rankings to 15 commitments and now No. 25 in the country ahead of some powerhouses. There's still a long way to go, but 11 commitments in the span of 2.5 weeks is something that deserves plenty of praise.
And that class could grow once again on Monday.
According to the father of three-star wideout Zach Washington, as reported on by Emmett Matasovsky, there's a commitment happening on Monday for the Wheaton, Ill., product.
Per his father, Dean’s, instagram, Spartan priority target 2026 WR Zach Washington is announcing his commitment tomorrow, at 2:30pm Central Time.

Washington is deciding between Wisconsin, Michigan State, and West Virginia, but if you go strictly by what the crystal ball has been saying lately, the Spartans are trending heavily here, overtaking the previous favorite (Wisconsin).
The three-star wideout from Illinois has taken all of his planned official visits, starting with Wisconsin on May 30 and following that up with Michigan State on June 6 and West Virginia on June 13. The Badgers were the presumed favorite heading into the first visit and they seemed to extend their lead -- that was, until he got to East Lansing.
Washington got to hang out with his former high school quarterback, Alessio Milivojevic, who is entering his redshirt freshman season with Michigan State. That connection will help big time.
Plus, crystal balls have been rolling in for the Spartans over the past couple of days.
The Spartans are likely going to stay hot and add a 16th commitment to the 2026 class unless Washington surprises everyone and goes with Wisconsin or West Virginia.
Washington is ranked the No. 891 overall recruit in the 2026 class as well as the 137th-best receiver, according to 247Sports. He would be Michigan State's first receiver commit.
