Michigan State football's complete 2025 schedule with dates has been revealed
Michigan State football fans, you can now plan you next fall of activities and trips. The 2025 schedule with dates has officially been revealed on Wednesday afternoon.
While we already knew who Michigan State would be playing in 2025, we didn't know the order of opponents in Big Ten play nor the dates.
Now we do.
Michigan State opens the year with three non-conference home games against Western Michigan, Boston College, and Youngstown State, before heading to USC to end the month of September. Following a bye at the end of September, the Spartans will go to Lincoln to face Nebraska to begin October before hostin UCLA.
The toughest stretch is probably the one right after the UCLA game in which Michigan State travels to Bloomington to face Indiana before hosting Michigan, going to Minnesota, hosting Penn State, and then going to Iowa. This is one of those "hope to go 3-2" stretches that Michigan State seems to have every single year.
The Spartans open conference play with three road games in their first four contests and they don't have consecutive home games in Big Ten play all year.
In fact, Michigan State has just four home conference games compared to five on the road. And the road games aren't exactly walks in the park at Iowa, USC, Minnesota, Indiana, and Nebraska.
Jonathan Smith now knows the schedule he's working with and he has to prepare accordingly. Fortunately, he's hitting the transfer portal hard in order to get the roster right before the season opener. He has some work to do, but now he knows how 2025 will play out.
