Michigan State football pulled off a huge recruiting flip on Sunday afternoon.

In the midst of the final official visit weekend before the dead period, Michigan State pulled off a flip of one of the best visitors to make their way to campus this month.

Four-star wideout Tyren Wortham flipped his commitment from UCF to Michigan State on Sunday afternoon, making him the third four-star pledge in the Spartans' 2026 class.

This is arguably the biggest recruiting win of the cycle so far for Jonathan Smith as he beat out programs like Kansas State and Georgia for Wortham who had been drawing a ton of interest in recent months after committing to UCF. He holds over 30 offers in the 2026 class.

Wortham is now the third-highest-rated recruit in Michigan State's 2026 class behind Collin Campbell and Kayd Coffman and the offense is starting to take shape in the cycle.

The four-star former UCF commit is listed as an "athlete" but he projects to be a receiver and has the perfect frame and skills to be one of the better ones on the roster the second he gets to campus. Imagining a receiving corps with him, Evan Boyd, Chrishon McCray, and Nick Marsh is scary, to say the least, and it gives Aidan Chiles yet another weapon.

The Sarasota, Fla., prospect is ranked the No. 387 overall recruit and 59th-best receiver in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite. He also held offers from Georgia, Kansas State, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, and Ole Miss before committing to Michigan State.

Michigan State's 2026 class now has 19 commits and is ranked No. 23 in the country.
