Michigan State football got some good news on Saturday afternoon with one of the more interesting recruitments in the nation right now.
The Spartans are in the chase for the No. 1 offensive tackle available in the transfer portal in Montana State's Conner Moore and it feels like they're closing in on landing him.
Why? Well, because he canceled a big visit with a competitor.
That's right, Moore was just in East Lansing on Thursday night for that Washington hoops beatdown and he seemed to like what he saw because he has canceled a visit with Ohio State that he had originally wanted to plan.
This is somewhat crazy timing considering Ohio State just beat Texas on Friday night to advance to the national title game against Notre Dame and Moore decided it was in his best interest to focus on the schools he has already visited: Michigan State and Cincinnati.
Moore would be a huge addition for the Spartans ahead of the 2025 season because he could come in and become the top offensive lineman immediately.
Michigan State has addressed needs along the offensive line already in the 2025 transfer portal as it has gotten commitments from Matthew Gulbin, Caleb Carter, and Luka Vincic. All three of these guys could compete for starting snaps and, at the very least, provide some competition for the returning starters. They'll make the offensive line better overall.
And if the Spartans can land Moore, that means they'll have a starting tackle and they can complement him with some solid pieces.
Jim Michalczik and Jonathan Smith may have just sealed the deal on Thursday. Or was it Tom Izzo?
