Michigan State football has finally gotten some help on its offensive line.

Jonathan Smith admitted following the season that the trenches needed a ton of help if Michigan State is going to take another step forward in 2025. So of course he went back to his old stomping grounds for some help.

Much like he did with Tanner Miller in the 2024 transfer class, Smith has gone to Corvallis to find some help in the portal.

On Sunday, Smith and Co. landed Oregon State interior offensive lineman Luka Vincic.

Vincic was slated to start for Oregon State in 2025 but he decided to hit the transfer portal and follow his former head coach who recruited him as well as his offensive line coach to East Lansing. This move makes sense for both parties because Michigan State will be losing Miller to graduation and will need some help on the interior of that offensive line.

Arguably the weakest position group on the team this past season was the offensive line so naturally Smith went into the portal and landed a starter from a (former) Power Four program.

The Spartans are now looking to add other positions via the portal like receiver, which was added to on Sunday as well, and also the defensive backfield, defensive line, and running back. Pretty much every position group needs to be addressed in the portal.

Ideally, the Spartans have a healthy-sized transfer class and it harps on the trenches and defensive backfield with sprinkling in of skill position players at receiver and running back.

Smith isn't done yet.
