Michigan State football 'expected' to get visit from FCS All-American OT

It's been a busy offseason for Michigan State football coach Jonathan Smith as he's been trying to clean up the mess left behind from the Mel Tucker era still, doing his best to flip the roster.

So far, he's lost 13 guys to the transfer portal since the end of the regular season and he's added over a dozen. He did just lost Idaho tight end transfer Mason Mini to Cal on Wednesday after committing to Michigan State on Monday which was one of the weirdest recruitments in recent memory. Mini was committed to the Spartans for less than 48 hours.

Smith has already put that situation in the rearview mirror and he's moving on to bigger and better things -- quite literally.

On Wednesday afternoon, Chris Hummer of 247Sports reported that Michigan State is 'expected' to get a visit from FCS All-American offensive lineman Conner Moore from Montana State.

Moore would be an excellent addition to an already-solid transfer class along the offensive line. He would provide Michigan State a surefire starting tackle and would ease the pressure of hoping that a young guy steps up to the plate and exceeds expectations in 2025. Moore would take some pressure off Jim Michalczik's shoulders.

Ohio State and Cincinnati are also lobbying for the Millbury, Ohio, native which makes sense because he probably wants to spend his remaining eligibility closer to home.

Beating out the two in-state schools for Moore won't be easy, but the Spartans have plenty of playing time to offer the FCS All-American from Montana State. Plus, it would just make too much sense to go from MSU (Montana State) to MSU (Michigan State).

Hopefully he sticks with MSU.
