While one Michigan State basketball target (seemingly not a take anymore) is announcing his college decision on Thursday, another has revealed when he will be committing.
Jalyn Collingwood is announcing his decision on Thursday evening, choosing between Mississippi State, Michigan State, and Ohio State. All signs are pointing to him joining the Bulldogs of Mississippi State, especially since Michigan State didn’t end up hosting him on an official visit.
Fans are more concerned about the recruitments of Jasiah Jervis, Ethan Taylor, and Maximo Adams.
Well, one of those guys (arguably the Spartans’ No. 1 target in 2026) revealed when he will be making his decision. Jervis, a four-star shooting guard from New York, announced on Thursday that he will be committing on Nov. 5, and he’s choosing between five schools.
Michigan State made the cut, as expected.

Jervis also has two visits remaining:
Illinois: October 17th
Tennessee: October 24th

Illinois, Michigan State, NC State, Pitt, and Tennessee make up his final five, and he still has visits planned to check out the Illini and the Volunteers. He’ll be at Illinois this weekend and then Tennessee next weekend which means he’s going to announce less than two weeks after his final official.
To me, this feels like he already has his mind made up before his final two officials, and the favorite has to be Michigan State, especially when you consider the time and energy Tom Izzo has put into his recruitment. He’s hosted him for Grind Week and then took three different trips out to see him in September and October. He’s putting in the work.
Jervis would be a great fit, and he’s the No. 39 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He’d form a heck of a backcourt duo with Carlos Medlock Jr.
