Death. Taxes. Yearly injuries that send Michigan State basketball fans into a panic.

This time around, it's Kaleb Glenn.

While he has never suited up for the Spartans, he was expected to be a massive piece to the puzzle in 2025-26 as arguably the team's best shooter. He came over from FAU after shooting around 40 percent from deep and his rapport with Jeremy Fears Jr. made him a legitimate breakout candidate.

Unfortunately, that will have to wait a year.

On Wednesday, rumors circulated that Glenn suffered a season-ending injury but nothing was confirmed throughout the morning and into the afternoon. Unfortunately, the rumors became reality as Joe Tipton reported that Glenn suffered a torn patella tendon this week and would be out for the season. Justin Thind confirmed that it happened during a shooting drill.

The plan for Glenn now is to redshirt and come back in 2026-27.

Horrible doesn't even begin to describe this news for Michigan State basketball fans but Tom Izzo is no stranger to losing key players before, during, and after seasons. He's going to find a way to adjust and he'll probably need to rely heavily on the incoming freshmen to help out.

Glenn is now the second Spartan basketball player to suffer an injury this offseason, following Jesse McCulloch who's reportedly dealing with a stress fracture in his foot.

Asking Michigan State fans not to overreact or melt down at this news may just be asking too much. Fans reacted accordingly on Wednesday afternoon.

Obviously this news has hit everyone hard, but the team is going to have to grow up and grow together in a hurry. This should undoubtedly accelerate the growth of the young guys.
