Kenneth Walker III didn't need extra motivation to go out and win a Super Bowl, but he got it anyway.

Walker disclosed that Sunday's game was the first time his father got to see him play an NFL game in person. His dad, Kenneth II, accompanies the family to Seattle for all of his son's games, but doesn't go into the stadium because he doesn't like big crowds. Walker's mother and brother are usually the ones in attendance, but last night it was the entire group.

"My Dad, he comes out to Seattle all the time to watch games, but he never goes to the game because he don't like crowds," Walker III said. "So this is his first NFL game and, you know, we won of Super Bowl, so it means a lot to me and I know he's proud of me."

The timing couldn't have been better for Walker II to make his first game. He got to watch his son win MVP on the NFL's biggest stage, gaining 135 yards on 27 carries to become the first running back to win the award since Terrell Davis accomplished the feat in Super Bowl XXXII.

Walker III wasn't expecting his father to attend the game, but someone close to the player convinced him to go.

"I wasn't the one that convinced him actually. My agent convinced him to come out here. I didn't think he would come. They ended up mic'ing him up and everything, so he got out of his comfort zone," Walker III added.

It's a great moment for Walker, who had a pulmonary embolism and needed blood clots removed from his lungs when he was a senior in high school. He was able to return to football and played two seasons at Wake Forest before transferring to Michigan State in 2021, where he won the Doak Walker Award and was a Consensus All-American.

Now he can add Super Bowl MVP to this list of accomplishments. And his dad was there to see it all.
