Four years ago, Kenneth Walker III was in the middle of a magical season with Michigan State.
The Wake Forest transfer took the nation by storm, rushing for over 200 yards on multiple occasions throughout the 2021 season. He ended up winning the Walter Camp and Doak Walker awards en route to a Peach Bowl berth and 11-win season.
Walker was considered the best running back in the country by a healthy margin, and he won the awards to prove it. However, he was one of the rare Walter Camp and Doak Walker Award winners who didn’t get the invite to New York for the annual Heisman Trophy Ceremony.
And he hasn’t forgotten about it.
While touring Michigan State’s trophy room and football facility, Walker pointed out the hardware that he brought home, while also saying “they didn’t invite me to the Heisman, though.”
The interaction was hilarious, but it shows that even though he’s joking, he hasn’t forgotten.

It also doesn’t sound like he’s ready to forgive the committee who didn’t invite him to New York for the Heisman Ceremony. He’s obviously not upset about it still, but he won’t forget that he was one of the biggest Heisman snubs in recent memory — not saying that he should’ve won it, but he should have at least had a seat at the table.
If I’ve learned anything, it’s that if Jabrill Peppers earned an invite to the Heisman Ceremony, Walker absolutely should’ve been in New York.
Michigan State fans, and now former players, are all too familiar with disrespect.
