Tuesday was not a good day for a lot of players around the NFL. It was cut day in the league, and even some former Michigan State stars got some bad news that they didn't make their respective NFL teams after preseason ball.

Unfortunately, rookie linebacker Jordan Turner was one of the unlucky guys who didn't make the cut.

Turner, a former Wisconsin linebacker who transferred to Michigan State ahead of the 2024 season, had a strong preseason with the Denver Broncos and there was chatter that he might make the team, but he was ultimately cut by the organization. However, it was reported that he was a strong practice squad candidate because the Broncos liked him enough, and sure enough, it came to fruition.

On Wednesday, it was reported that he was signing with the Broncos' practice squad.

So it looks like Turner is going to get his NFL opportunity anyway. He may have been cut by the Broncos, but they wasted no time getting him signed to the practice squad.

Essentially, what this means is that he's going to be around for practices and if someone gets hurt at the linebacker position, he'd get pulled up to the active roster while that player is on injured reserve. He has worked hard to get where he is, and he's always seemingly exceeding expectations, so I wouldn't be shocked if he was making plays on Sundays at some point this season.

Turner is an easy player to root for, and he's going to make Denver look like geniuses for keeping him around.
