Although college football returns this weekend, all eyes have been on the NFL over the past 24 hours as the blockbuster trade of the offseason happened when Micah Parsons was dealt from Dallas to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.

The move, however, will affect a Spartan. No, Jayden Reed wasn't part of the deal, but the move to bring Parsons to Green Bay will directly affect him this season.

Parsons has been wearing No. 11 since his Penn State days, and that's currently the number that Reed wears with the Packers. So it looks like he's going to have to change numbers, per Parsons' request, and find a new one before the season begins. Parsons will also likely be paying Reed a handsome amount of money for that jersey number.

A new number may be difficult for Reed to choose because his high school and college numbers are currently off-limits. His No. 1 that he wore at Michigan State is retired by the Green Bay Packers to honor founder Curley Lambeau, and the same goes for No. 5 which is also retired. He started his Michigan State career by wearing the No. 5, but switched to No. 1.

I did a little research, and Reed wore the No. 12 in high school, but that number, too, is unofficially retired by the Packers, as no one has worn it since Aaron Rodgers left.

Then there's the No. 87 he wore at Western Michigan before transferring to Michigan State. That number is in use by fellow wideout Romeo Doubs.

It'll be interesting to see what Reed decides to do. Will he keep the number and force Parsons to switch his (unlikely), or will he find a new number?
