Shortly after the date for Grind Week was announced, a couple of official visits were planned and made public. Michigan State basketball will be hosting some top targets for Grind Week.

According to Justin Thind of 247Sports, this year's lucky visitors will be headlined by four-star point guard Carlos Medlock Jr. who has been one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2026 class.

This is going to be a massive visit for the Spartans because Medlock is only garnering more attention after his recent breakout showing at the Adidas 3SSB event. He was one of the top performers among several elite recruits and he has since earned offers from the likes of Oklahoma State, Creighton, and Iowa.

Michigan State extended its offer about a month ago on June 16 and Michigan offered a day later just to make things interesting.

Michigan State sees Medlock as a top guard target in the 2026 class and he recently moved to Missouri for his final year of high school ball. Getting him on campus casually won't be simple anymore as he's now hundreds of miles away instead of just down the road. Getting him in for Grind Week is massive, however.

The Spartans usually get some commitments stemming from Grind Week every year which is an event that the program holds for former players to come back and work out with the current team and some recruits. This is a chance for the recruits to be immersed in the culture of MSU.

Medlock is chosen as the lucky headliner of this year's Grind Week. In case you don't remember, Grind Week yielded a commitment from Jase Richardson over Alabama.

Hopefully Izzo has the same luck with Medlock.

The four-star recruit is ranked the No. 100 overall recruit in the 2026 class as well as the 11th-best point guard, per 247Sports. He doesn't have great size at 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, but he plays much bigger and more aggressive. This is a must add, in my opinion.
