Michigan State got some more good recruiting news on Saturday afternoon with a couple top 2027 targets narrowing their list of potential suitors down. Both of these targets have Michigan State on their final lists, and both have now scheduled official visits.
Jadyn Jenkins — and Jaxson Davis, but we’ll get to him later — cut his list to a final five of Michigan State, NC State, Georgetown, Xavier, and Ohio State. He then shared that he would be visiting Michigan State over the weekend of Sept. 10-13.
That’s apparently going to be a massive weekend for Tom Izzo and Michigan State as it’s Grind Week. CWPF (close warm personal friend) Andrew Cumbow shared an interesting update to the Jenkins scheduled visit, noting that he’ll be there during Grind Week.
For those unfamiliar, Grind Week is an annual weekend every fall when former Michigan State basketball players return to campus to work out with the current team and to meet recruits. They all inter-mingle and it’s usually a perfect time to show off how “family-like” the program is. Recruits usually see this and immediately buy in — just ask Jase Richardson.
Jenkins is a newer target that Michigan State fans have been following after Izzo offered him about four weeks ago. He’s also the No. 42 overall recruit and No. 6 center in the 2027 class.
I think we should all feel pretty good about MSU’s chances because of this development.

Some truly massive names come to Grind Week every year.
Guys like Magic Johnson, Draymond Green, Jaren Jackson Jr., Cassius Winston, Xavier Tillman, Gary Harris, Miles Bridges, Denzel Valentine, and countless others have all made their way back to Michigan State for this annual event to re-connect with the program. It’s a great way to kick off the new season and it gives the current roster a sense of camaraderie.
Jenkins will get to see that firsthand, and I’m almost positive that Izzo will try to stretch that into a two-recruit visit to maximize the potential of having them take in Grind Week.
Get ready to hear Jenkins’ name mentioned a lot more over the next two months.
