Folks, it's coming back. No, I'm not talking about EA Sports College Football 26 which returns next week, but rather a new college basketball video game.

Michigan State basketball fans are chomping at the bit to fire up the Playstation 5 or Xbox to lead Tom Izzo and the Spartans to their second (and third, fourth, and fifth) national title.

Don't believe me? EA Sports teased the return of the college hoops game on X today.

"Bring the Madness. Let's run it back."

That's all I needed to hear on Monday afternoon when the official EA Sports accounted posted about the return of the beloved college basketball game. It was one of those "ahead of its time" games the last time it was released (back when I was in college -- I'm old, I know) because of its graphics and scorebug which was presented by CBS Sports and ESPN.

You'd be lying if you said you didn't love the EA Sports College Basketball game back in the day and its return is only going to give fans another thing to look forward to as they manuever through the offseason.

That means we'll be able to start a dynasty with Michigan State, lead Izzo to his second title (or become your own coach), and recruit at an elite level each year. I can't wait.

This was one of my favorite games throughout college and the dorm-wide tournaments we'd have were epic and memorable. Getting EA Sports College Football back and then EA Sports College Basketball within a two-year span? It's really a golden era for sports games right now.

As for its return date? It looks like 2028.

This is going to be a long three years.
