Former Michigan State star Draymond Green’s 2025-26 NBA season ended a little earlier than he had hoped, falling in the play-in round to the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns went on to get swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round so it didn’t ultimately matter. Draymond’s Golden State career is now up in the air as he’s set to become a free agent and after Steve Kerr was extended as head coach, it would make things rather interesting if he returned to the Warriors. He took a slight shot at Kerr, saying that he may have held him back a little offensively, but he holds no ill will toward his coach.

I’m sure they’ve talked it out behind the scenes and it’d actually be really weird to see Draymond in any other jersey than the Warriors’. I’d be kind of surprised if he moved on.

Still, his career at Golden State might be over, and he heard all about that during his appearance on ‘The Roast of Kevin Hart’ on Netflix. The Netflix special was hosted by Shane Gillis and featured some other athletes like Venus and Serena Williams and Tom Brady, but no one took strays quite like Draymond did.

And he took them like a champ with a smile on his face.

Draymond Green was the butt of several jokes

Besides being booed into oblivion every time his name was mentioned but that could have also been because the event was in Los Angeles so there were probably hundreds of Lakers fans there — and they don’t like Draymond for sports rivalry reasons.

Plus, Draymond is just a polarizing player and person. You either love him or you hate him, but his fellow celebrities at ‘The Roast of Kevin Hart’ definitely leaned into the latter.

Draymond’s obviously an easy target because he’s so disliked on the court because he’s been known for some extracurricular activities with immense amounts of trash talk. Off the court, he’s seemingly a pretty chill dude (Jordan Poole would probably disagree). He took some wicked strays at Hart’s roast and had a smile on his face the entire time.

Admittedly, Shane Gillis may have had the most tame one — and it was actually pretty funny.

Jeff Ross, an actor and comedian, chimed in with another pretty good one about him as a player, joking that Draymond was there because Steph Curry couldn’t make it although Steph carried Green on his back all the way to the Kia Forum.

He also got an ejection joke from Michigan alum Tom Brady to kick the show off.

The Rock even chimed in. Pretty much every celebrity on the stage attempted to cook him, but he laughed it off and was a good sport about it.

NOTE: There’s some NSFW language in this video.

Don’t worry, he didn’t only take jokes the entire night, he got to deliver some of his own and while he did get his short jokes in on Kevin Hart, he had some pretty good one-liners about his fellow celebs.

Overall, he handled himself well and had some humor of his own. He said on his podcast that he was super nervous, but he handled the entire roast like a champ.
