Like most college basketball stars, Coen Carr has NBA dreams. The junior forward for Michigan State knows he’s going to have some work to do if he’s going to cut it in the NBA.

However, there’s another pro sport that could give him an opportunity if the NBA doesn’t work out.

According to the hyper-athletic forward, there has been another professional sport with teams expressing interest in him. Carr said that the Chicago Bears have reached out to him, but they’re not the only team that’s inquired about his services.

Hearing that the Bears have reached out and other NFL teams have spoken to his advisers goes to show that an elite athlete will almost always find a home in professional sports.

Carr is one of the most impressive athletes in the country so it’s no surprise that he would be garnering some NFL interest. What teams wouldn’t want a red zone target who stands 6-foot-6 and can outjump everyone? He would be a cheat code on jump balls, and that means he has serious NFL value. Learning the game would be tough, but you can’t teach elite athleticism.

The value of a jump-ball specialist is high and Carr would be able to do it with the best.

Coen Carr is going to get an NBA opportunity

Although he’s not going to be an NBA player this offseason, he may very well test the draft waters and see what he needs to do in order to be drafted.

Surely there will be no panic among the fanbase if that does happen. Carr and probably Jeremy Fears Jr. are going to go through the draft process to get some feedback, and I think that’s going to do wonders for both players. Carr is going to be told to improve his handle and his jumper and judging by his growth this past season, I’d bet that he becomes a much more consistent shooter as a senior.

And if he can figure out that he can drive to the basket with ease against pretty much every small forward defender, he’s going to be unstoppable.

There’s a lot of work to do, but Carr will get an NBA shot.
