After putting up 42 points in a double-overtime thriller against Boston College, it felt like Michigan State's offense had finally turned a corner, thanks, in large part, to an Aidan Chiles breakout.
But Kent State receiver transfer Chrishon McCray believes there's more room to grow.
In fact, McCray spoke to the media on Tuesday and said that the offense showed some glimpses, but it's not even close to where it could be. He believes the offense has way more potential.
Michigan State WR Chrishon McCray:

“I think we’ve seen some glimpses but we’re not even close to the potential of this offense.”
Hearing one of the key weapons on offense who has struggled a bit to make an impact through two games say that the offense is "not even close" to reaching its full potential is intriguing. McCray was expected to be one of the top three wideouts on the team, and so far this season, he's been right there as the third option with four catches for 72 yards,
Obviously the potential for McCray is sky-high, but the junior transfer from Kent State hasn't quite gotten into the full offensive rhythm yet. He's still learning the system.
However, once he gets that down and as long as Omari Kelly and Nick Marsh continue to play at a high level with Chiles protecting the ball and making big throws, this offense is going to explode. This offense has the most potential we've seen from any Spartan offense in years -- probably since 2021.
If Chiles plays like he did against Boston College moving forward, if the run-blocking continues to open lanes, if Makhi Frazier continues to be a dude in the backfield, and if the receiving corps continues to get more comfortable and create more explosive plays, this offense could win some big games this year.
