Both Michigan State basketball commits in 2025 class move up in rankings

Not surprising.

Michigan State basketball has been on a tear this season, starting 16-2 with a perfect 7-0 record in Big Ten play and the Spartans have been the talk of college hoops, exceeding expectations.

But there's still a long way to go. There are 13 regular-season games left and if Michigan State can win 8-9 of those, there's a good chance it will be the Big Ten champ for the first time since Cassius Winston helped lead the program to three straight.

While Michigan State is killing it on the hardwood, Tom Izzo's 2025 class recruits have been impressing on their own. Both Cam Ward and Jordan Scott (borderline top-50 players) have been improving during their senior seasons and it's showing.

In fact, 247Sports updated its 2025 class rankings and Michigan State's two commits in the class have moved up a couple of spots.

Neither were top-50 prospects last week on 247Sports, but now Ward is up to No. 49 and Scott is up to No. 51 in the updated rankings, making them the sixth and seventh-highest rated commits in the Big Ten in the 2025 class.

Once again, Izzo is showing that he is one of the best recruiters in the country and the rest of the Big Ten seems to always be playing catch-up.

Some other notable names in the top-50 in the new rankings are former targets Darius Acuff (Arkansas) at No. 5, Chris Cenac Jr. (Houston) at No. 7, Jalen Haralson (Notre Dame) at No. 19, Trey McKenney (Michigan) at No. 21, Darius Adams (UConn) at No. 25, Dwayne Aristode (Arizona) at No. 30, Niko Bundalo (Washington) at No. 38, and Jerry Easter (USC) at No. 45).

Izzo aimed high in this class and missed on some top targets but still came away with two of the best prospects in the class. Ward is the No. 12 power forward and Scott is the No. 9 small forward in the country.
