If you were hoping that Michigan State football would sneak back into the recruitment of recently-decommitted four-star linebacker Braylon Hodge, you can probably move on now.
The four-star linebacker decommitted from Michigan State a couple of weeks ago after visiting Michigan, and he admitted that he was focusing on a few programs like Missouri, Oregon, and the Wolverines. The Colorado-based linebacker was looking to pick a new home, and Michigan State was essentially eliminated from the running.
Spartan fans were disappointed with the decision, but they were more upset with the fact that Michigan was in the running for him and the worry was that he would flip to the Wolverines.
Well, we don’t have to worry about that anymore. But Hodge will be staying in the Big Ten, according to an announcement on X on Friday.
Let’s get it‼️🦆 #scoducks https://t.co/xwR5raYTd2

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker from Colorado was committed to Michigan State since June, and his stock rose dramatically. He started garnering more interest from big-time programs, and he decided to reopen his recruitment after that Michigan official visit. On Friday, he joined the Ducks’ already-loaded 2026 recruiting class.
Hodge is the No. 260 overall recruit and No. 1 Colorado prospect in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. He’s going to be really good for years to come which is bad news seeing that he’s joining the Big Ten.
Now, Spartan fans just have to hope that the other Michigan State decommit, Tyren Wortham, doesn’t end up in the Big Ten, but Penn State, Maryland, and Washington all recently offered him.
