A lot of familiar faces on this roster.

Another former Spartan has signed with an NBA team following the draft process and it's a name that is very polarizing within the Michigan State fanbase: AJ Hoggard.

Yes, the former Michigan State point guard is headed to the NBA Summer League.

Earlier this week, Hoggard was announced as a member of the Pelicans' Summer League roster along with another familiar name at the point guard position.

The roster is actually loaded with familiar faces with Jeremiah Fears running the point after going in the lottery to the Pelicans last week. On top of Fears, the younger brother of Jeremy Fears Jr., the Pelicans also signed Maryland's Derik Queen who played the Spartans this past season and fell victim to Tre Holloman's three-quarters-court heave at the buzzer. Oh, and Hunter Dickinson is on the team, too.

What a roster.

Hoggard transferred from Michigan State last offseason after mutually deciding with Tom Izzo to part ways and look for a larger role elsewhere which he did under a new coaching staff at Vanderbilt. He spent one season with the Commodores, averaging 9.6 points and 4.6 assists while playing 26 minutes per game for a vastly improved Vanderbilt team that cracked the Top 25 for the first time in years.

All of this led to him earning some NBA looks ahead of Summer League action, and now he's joining a Pelicans roster with his former teammate's younger brother and former hated rival.

Hoggard is the latest former Spartan to join a Summer League roster, following Mady Sissoko (Thunder), Frankie Fidler (Bucks), Jaden Akins (Magic), and Marcus Bingham Jr. (Magic) -- obviously Jase Richardson will be on the Magic Summer League roster as their first-round pick.

There will be plenty of former Michigan State stars to watch this summer.
