It’s been a good week for Michigan State’s offense.

Chrishon McCray decided he would withdraw his name from the transfer portal, giving Michigan State another potential WR1 option for 2026. He showed flashes in 2025 after transferring in from Kent State, his lack of targets was more on the offense than anything else.

Cam Edwards set off a string of commitments at running back. He is likely to be the team’s RB1 next season, but he’ll have Jaziun Patterson and Marvis Parrish to split carries with. Brandon Tullis and Jace Clarizio are also back, as of Jan. 9.

The backfield also gets the services of Carson Gulker who’s transferring in from Ferris State as an H-back type.

As for the offensive line, it has beefed up with the additions of Trent Fraley, Robert Wright Jr., Nick Sharpe, and Ben Murawski. Plus, Rustin Young and Conner Moore recently announced that they’d be returning.

All is looking up, and one young receiver was expected to be a big part of the plans. However, that receiver is considering the possibility of transferring.

Bryson Williams posted a “decisions” tweet on X earlier this week.

Williams was one of the more exciting commitments for Jonathan Smith and the Spartans in the 2025 class. He didn’t see much action in 2025, catching only one pass for eight yards over three appearances.

Now, he has a big decision to make.

The opportunity will be there for Bryson Williams

Williams didn’t see much action as a true freshman, but with his position coach returning and a new staff to win over, the opportunity is there in year two.

Braylon Collier is also returning with Williams and McCray, which makes for a solid core for the receiver room. Williams will likely have to battle some portal additions like Fredrick Moore for snaps, but being ina 4-5 man rotation in year two isn’t a bad place to be.

The talent is there, he just needed an opportunity, and with essentially the entire room departing this offseason from Nick Marsh to Omari Kelly to Evan Boyd to Rod Bullard, it would make sense for him to return as a redshirt freshman.
