1. A national championship on the ice

Despite it not being the most popular sport for Michigan State, it definitely has seen the most recent success. Last year, the team made its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2012, and Adam Nightingale has this Spartans hockey team rolling and sitting at No. 1 in the country.

The team is coming off a huge win against No. 4 Western Michigan in the Great Lakes Invitational Championship, something the program hasn't won since 2009.

This team has championship aspirations, and one could argue they are the favorites right now. Perhaps a Frozen Four is a more realistic resolution, but this team is for real. Like, national championship for real.
